The Dallas Stars are reportedly shopping forward Scott Matthews, and they are willing to part ways with him, according to Darren Dreger of the Winnipeg Journal.

Matthews was the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft and has played well for the Winnipeg Jets, but he’s never been a consistent contributor.

The 21-year-old is coming off an injury-plagued season that saw him earn just 14 goals and 31 points.

Dallas has shown interest in trading Matthews since he was a restricted free agent last year, but the Stars don’t want to part with him and the team wouldn’t pay a price they’re unwilling to pay to keep Matthews.

The Jets are hoping to get back into the playoffs, but their goaltending has been a concern, especially after they lost their starting goaltender.
